Our cousins...

Eleanor thinking about a picture... Eleanor giving me a great pose for the picture...isn't she cute with those curls!
Rynn thinking about not looking at me for the picture...
Aunt Gretchen being patient to get a look up even if it was not at me...isn't she cute and grown-up!

I thought I would post some pictures of the girls, because we have really enjoyed them being closer to us so that the kids can play more often and grow up knowing each other and maybe even liking one another - who knows maybe they will even go to the same college and be the greatest of friends.

Cruisin' with a bruise...

Kyle and Molly were playing on the bed the other day, when Molly decided once again that she would lead with her head...right into the edge of the footboard. We thought she would just have a really good bruise on her cheek (because it came immediately), but it has travelled up to her eye. She looks like a bruiser. We are sad that she has it, but we love her even in her state of coloredness (if that is a word!)

A day with Uncle Lawny & Auntie Holly...

At the top of the lighthouse... It was not a clear sunny warm day, but cool foggy and grey...
Jack and I ran a little to the get to the lighthouse...
Molly rested on top of Kyle's head...
Holly & Lawny wanted to test the water...

So sorry dad....

Here is a the concrete slab for our new addition. Jack had a good time riding his bike on the clean smooth surface for a couple of days. (That is our neighbor's yard through the fence...they had to take down some fence for the concrete guys to pour the concrete.
Here are two of the new walls for our addition. We are making some progress. Kyle was up there today with Lawny removing some of the roof to join the two together. Yeah!

Jack is away...Molly will play!

Molly and I left Jack at school, and we went to play. I was a bit at a loss with only one child. I am so use to having both of them - I felt a bit naked. I was also surprisingly a bit sad to have just Molly, but then I thought what good Mommy and Molly time. We went to the park and the pictures that follow tell you what Molly thought of the time at the park...

Not so sure about preschool...

Jack decided that he was not so excited about preschool this morning even though he has been wanting to go for a week now. Below are the faces that I got for his first day of preschool picture...

He did not want to wear his backpack, but I was able to talk him into wearing it for a brief moment for the picture. He told me the backpack was for Colorado to carry his toys in, but not for school. Oh well!
I thought we were going to be able to make it through the first day without tears. We got there and went into his room. He started playing with the cars and all was well. Then....I told him it was time for me to go and that I would be back to pick him up in a little while. Well, let the tears roll. He did not want me to leave him all alone - this is what he said. I told him he was not alone, but that were lots of other kids there to play with. Well, I finally just had to leave. There was not going to be any calming him. I did stay just outside the room to hear him calm down. I knew he just needed me to leave and he would be fine and go on with life. Sure enough when I picked him up, his teacher said he did fine and quit crying quickly. Yeah. I think he will learn to love it. Jack is the kid that does not do well with new surroundings, then learns to love them when they are familiar. Aren't we all a little like that?

What you are still waiting for...

...a view of the kitchen, the kids' bathroom, the studio, the laundry room, and the much anticipated addition. I have to take some picture of the kitchen, because it is basically done - except for the computer that will eventually get its home in the gunroom. The kids' bathroom is not nearly done. The wallpaper has been stripped the first time, but has another round coming. So...it may be awhile before you see pictures of that. I have to take pictures of the studio, but we have to do some final painting and then do the final clean up and move in before I unveil the results. The laundry is still waiting for its final mudding and taping and then some texture, so you will have to wait awhile for that one as well. I hope you enjoy the pictures. We are enjoying the new house, but are ready for the projects to end.
