Rain and mowing...

The other day I was driving home from the gym. There was a good stream of rain going on when I looked up and to myself wished I had had a camera. There was a gentleman with a raincoat and rainboots on mowing the lawn. I thought it was a bit odd, because where I come from we wait until it is dry and nice outside to mow the lawn. But...I guess out here in the northwest you do mow the lawn whenever the grass is long enough - rain or shine. My thought is that you can not count on the shine to come around everytime the grass is long. Wish I could have taken a picture of it.

Ironing...

Many know that when Kyle was in Seminary in St. Louis, I did not iron his shirts. For most that would not be a big deal, but with Kyle's shirts we have to hang them up to dry so that they do not shrink and then don't fit. So, Kyle was very much a wrinkle bucket while attending graduate school. I did not want to iron his shirt because I was working full-time, and used that as an excuse to be lazy. In hindsight, I wish that I would have taken the time because those wrinkled shirts really did look bad for a graduate student of his age. Oh well! I tell you all this to say that after Kyle graduated and was working full-time, and I was staying at home I made a deal with him that I would now iron his shirts. So about once a week I get out the ironing board and do some serious starching and ironing. Today was one such day. Jack got up from his nap and came into the room where I was ironing. He climbed up into the bed and said, "Mommy, when I get bigger I am going to iron. When I get bigger I will iron Daddy's shirts for you, so that you do not have to iron. Mommy, when I get bigger I will iron Daddy's shirts." I have never complained about the ironing to Jack, so I thought it was really sweet that he wants to do the work for me. I LOVE my Jackie P!!

Results of a little brotherly help...

Jack was "trying" to help Molly onto the bed, and it didn't quite work as well as either of them had hoped!

Jack ran out of gas...

...so Molly pushed him up the hill. This went on for quite a while. She is our strong little girl!

Jack attack...

Molly got the biggest kick out of Jack jumping on top of the car!

Sunny day in Eugene...

Jack LOVES to be outside. He brought out the digger and the firetruck to dig in the flowerbed. All he needs is dirt and he will be happy. Today is a beautiful day of about 65 with plenty of sunshine.

Wind in my hair...

Molly climbs on to try her hand at riding a bike. She loves the bell, and the fringe on the handlebars.

Bathtime for Molly...

We recently made the switch with Molly from bathing her in the kitchen sink to the bathtub. I realize that we are a little late in the switch, but she fit in the kitchen sink and it was easier for us to do it this way. Well, it proved to be a little traumatic. We tried a couple of baths in the bathtub on our trip to Colorado - she screamed to high heaven. We tried it back here at home, and she did the same thing. However, we pushed through the screaming and now she LOVES it. She tries to climb in the tub and she loves to splash around. It is funny to think how she hated it about a month ago. Enjoy the pictures...

Sibling Love

A couple of great pictures of the kids loving one another. Looking at these make me smile. I hope that you all can smile with me.
