The trials of having TWO places...

Yes, we bought our second home. Yes, it needs a lot of work. Yes, we have been working on it night and day. Yes, our children are being a little neglected. Yes, I feel guilty. Yes, I am sure they will not remember this in a year or two. Yes, we are stressed. Yes, we will get through this and get to the other side with a beautiful house that we love.

It has been a bit busy lately. The kids and I have been at the new house a lot. I have been doing a lot of the painting. Taking on the task of painting the trim in the whole house, is a big one - not to mention doing all the walls. We are excited about our actual moving date of next Monday, but it also means that a lot of the projects we have bitten off need to be done. I hope that they do in fact get completed. At least to the point, we can live in it. Kyle is over there right now doing the new counter top in the kitchen.

I have taken many photos, but am too tired to do the posting right now. You will have to check back to see those in a couple of weeks. I have not taken any new pictures of the kids. Basically, our life has revolved around how Kyle and I can work on the house while the other is at home with the kids. This process proves this is one occasion to support living by family - so they can watch the kids while you work and not feel guilty that they are being neglected. However, this lack of routine will also build some character in them and remind me how to take life in little strides.

Bye for tonight.

Now they are sick...

Who am I to complain? My last post was talking about how they slept in and I had gotten up early to go to the gym. Well...today I know why...they are BOTH sick. Jack was up all night long. I slept on the floor with a pillow and blanket. He seemed better in the morning, but suffered the rest of the day and went to bed tonight with a good fever. Molly woke up this morning warm, and had a fever all day long too. I called the doctor, but figured it was just a virus running its course seeing as how Molly is already on antibiotics. Next time, I will think about things before I complain about their sleeping. Hopefully tomorrow, they will feel better!

Now they sleep...

This morning I got up extra early to go to the gym and workout before the kids got up out of bed. Usually, Jack is up and ready to tackle the day by 7 and Molly soon follows. Well, this morning is different. In the unjust world, I got home from the gym at 7:15. I asked Kyle, "Are the kids still sleeping?" "Yes" was his reply. And guess what...they are still sleeping as I type this post. It is almost 8am and they have not ventured a sound. Where is the justice in that? I guess this time of quiet in the morning before the rush of the day is what God wanted me to have today. I will take advantage of it, and not remember the sleep I could be getting right now. Of course tomorrow when I don't get up to work out, the kids will rise early and we can have that time together!
